Black Berry Seminar

The blackberry seminar that I have attended last Saturday talks about how blackberry was formed, its current status in the Philippines., etc. by our speaker, John G. Bibal II from pinoyBBdev demonstrated how blackberry applications were formed and also we had an hands on exercises to let us experience the coding style when formulation blackberry applications.
On my experience performing the hands-on tasks given by the speaker, it was really quite easy for me to understand since the coding language is very much familiar to me. He even handed out installers to pass around the room just so everyone can follow up and experience programming BB apps. All throughout the seminar, I learned new techniques from these experiences and made me remember all the lessons that I have forgotten.  But since I’m not a blackberry user, I’d rather want to use my skills in developing more on windows based applications etc.

Mobile Computing

From beepers to cellphones to smartphones, who would have known this evolution of devices could be so vast that throughout the years, high scales of improvement have been made in order for us to have a more convenient way of communication with each other. Technology and the people behind it proved to us that there is such ways where we can have a more easier way of achieving information. Cellphones before send media files through infrared until Bluetooth was recognized to be much more easier in sending media files to different units. Also, internet connections before are only limited through computers and not on mobile devices.

Mobile phones nowadays are not only limited to texts and calls, mobile phones or smartphones have been introduced which have features that almost every ways of communication have been more mobile for example is internet access. From my own experience, I've tried using beepers which is very hard maybe because I'm just a kid back then and for a while my parents gave me a GSM phone which I really don't know the unit, looks like a wireless phone with an external antenna on top. I remember that time when I kept on sending gag texts to my parents and uncle during their work hours and calling TV shopping networks and hanging them up right away once they answered the call. Even though I don't have a smartphone, feedback says that it is more convenient and more mobile because almost some features that are being used as of now like twitter, facebook etc. have been accessible also through phone.

Even though mobile computing as we see is almost perfect, I'd still hoped for more improvements such as subscriber's signals, costs of load etc. There will always be issues that needs to be addressed but through these issues, improvements are made and new innovations have been produced.
